FAQ

Hola, here’s a list of frequently asked questions to help you prepare for race day:  

  1. Will the race be timed? Yes, the race will be timed by our race manager Triple Dare Running Company.

  2. Will you recognize top runners? Absolutely. We’ll have a special recognition for overall top females and males. We will also recognize the top runners in various age categories.

  3. Will starting times be staggered? Yes, to accommodate all our participants, whether you are walking or running, we will stagger the starting time. This means that our competitive runners will start right at 8:00 AM. As soon as these participants take off, we’ll line up those who are runners/walkers, followed by those who will be walking the entire course.  

  4. Can I bring a stroller? Yes, strollers are welcome.

  5. Can I bring my dog? Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the course. If we see someone with a dog at the start line, we’ll have to ask you to step aside. Please helps us run a smooth event by not bringing your four-legged babies to the course!

  6. How many water stations are there? There will be one water station for the 5K near the halfway point.

  7. Will you have snacks available at the finish line? Yes, we will have snacks (think Mexican pastries) at the finish line.

  8. Can I switch my registration for the live event to the virtual event? Yes, you can. Please email your request to andale5Krace@gmail.com. We’ll be happy to accommodate your request.

  9. When is package pick-up? Please make every effort to pick up your package on September 17, 2021, between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM at Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex (same location where we’ll be racing the following day). If you absolutely cannot pick up your package, you can pick it up on race day between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM.

  10. Can I pick up my friends’ packages? Yes, you can pick up someone else’s package but please make sure they know.

  11. The park is big, where exactly is package pick-up? Package pick-up will be at the picnic tables west of the soccer fields.

  13. What if I feel sick the day of the race? If you feel sick the day of the race, please stay home.

  14. How will the COVID pandemic affect this race? We continue to check CDC guidelines and state and local directives to ensure the event meets any requirements. If we receive news between now and race day, we’ll pass that information along. For now, expect to have hand sanitizer at our aid station and finish line snack tables, know that our volunteers handling the snacks and water will be wearing gloves and masks. On race day, please observe social distance guidelines.

Frequently asked questions for virtual ¡Andale! 5K participants

  1. I registered for the virtual race, when will I receive my package? If you registered by September 12, 2021, we already mailed your shirt and medal. If you register on or after September 13, 2021, we’ll mail your shirt as soon as possible but please be aware it may not arrive by race day.

  2. When can I run my ¡Andale! 5K? You can run any time on September 18 or 19.

  3. What steps should I follow:

 

  • Optional step – print your bib by going to your registration page on www.runsignup.com. This will be available after Saturday morning.

 

  • Run, jog, or walk your ¡Andale! 5K any time on Saturday, September 18 or Sunday, September 19.

 

  • Track your run with your favorite tracking device (e.g., Garmin, Apple Watch, Strava, Nike, Fitbit).

 

  • Take pictures with our t-shirt and medal and post on social media. Please tag us on Instagram (@lbaAndale5k) or Facebook (Andale5k).

 

  • Use hastags #Andale5k and #Andale5k2021.

 

  • Enter your time on your www.runsignup.com (if you are one of the top females or males, we’ll ask you to show us proof of your time, and we’ll send you a gift).

4. Will there be a special App to track my time? No, you should track your 5K using whatever device you normally use to track your runs/walks. Popular devices include Garmin, Apple Watch, and Fitbit. Others use a special App such as Nike or Strava.

5. Will you recognize the fastest virtual runners? Yes, we’ll recognize overall top female and male runners. If you are one of these runners, we’ll ask you to show proof of your time.

6. Can I switch my registration for the virtual event to the live event? Yes, but you must submit this request by Wednesday, September 15.
